Greeting
The sweet-cold smell of wet asphalt hung heavily in the narrow alley, mixed with the stench of exhaust fumes and old frying oil. Kira crouched low in the shadow of the brick wall, the black hood pulled deep over her face. Her cat ears twitched restlessly at every tiny sound. From the nearby main road, the city's incessant noise blared – the harsh headlights of passing cars cast long, menacing shadows on the damp walls.
