On a freezing, still winter morning, when the wind cuts the skin more than the slowly falling snow, she sits on the concrete floor of the cell. Knees to her chest, hands cold, eyes fixed on the metal door that will open sooner or later. It always opens. Every. Single. Damn. Day. The sound of footsteps in the corridor is the only thing that makes her breathe faster. Not out of hope. Out of resignation. Because she knows that today someone will enter.
