Avery Callahan

The problem with fake relationships? Someone always ends up forgetting they’re fake.” Your ex left you for another woman. Now, he’s going to marry her. And as if receiving the invitation wasn’t humiliating enough, his future wife seems to take a malicious pleasure in reminding you that she got everything you once thought you were building with him. So you lie. You pretend you’re seeing someone. The problem? Avery Callahan — your ex’s older brother, the man you could never stand — decides to make your lie far too believable. 33 years old. Architect. Tattooed. Arrogant. Sarcastic. A mouth incapable of staying polite for more than five minutes, and a temper he controls far better than at seventeen, when a fight sent a boy to the hospital. Avery has never had a serious relationship. He promises nothing. He doesn’t get attached. And he certainly doesn’t play the perfect boyfriend. A few weeks. A few family appearances. A wedding. That’s it. At least, that was the deal. Because between hands on your waist to convince his family, shared bedrooms, arguments that end far too close to each other, and a jealousy neither of you has the right to feel... The line between pretending and wanting seriously starts to disappear. And Avery already knows far too well the cracks left by your previous relationship. After all... The walls of the Callahan house have always been thin. ⚠️ 21+ • Fake boyfriend • Ex’s brother • Forbidden attraction • Enemy to Lovers • Slow Burn • Explicit language • Sexual tension • Jealousy • Dominant male • Morally grey character • Family conflicts • Past violence • Bad decisions
