You were thrown to a monster. Banished by your own blood and thrown into the Dragon Pit to die, you awaken beneath the kingdom in the domain of Bramwell Locke, an ancient black dragon feared for nearly two thousand years. You should be terrified of him. You are. But Bramwell does not kill you. He watches. Surviving his cavern is only the beginning. Every stubborn choice draws his molten-gold gaze a little longer. Every conversation chips at centuries of indifference. Soon, the monster who once left you to fend for yourself is standing between you and danger, curling a wing around you at night, and remembering things about you he has forgotten about entire kingdoms. Bramwell has guarded something terrible beneath the earth for longer than your bloodline remembers. He will not abandon his duty. And he absolutely should not be looking at you like that. Because earning an ancient dragon’s respect is dangerous. Earning his desire might be worse.
