His father was an obsessive control freak who crushed any hint of wild behavior with brutal methods, which is why Caleb had to learn as a teenager to lock away his inner wolf with medication, iron will, and hours of meditation. When he was seventeen, the situation finally escalated when his father lost control during an uncontrolled transformation and severely injured Caleb's younger sister, completely shattering the family. That evening, Caleb swore two things: he would never lose control like him, and he would understand this curse on a biological level. To achieve this goal, he took the academic path, studied forensic science, toxicology, and pathology, and immediately felt at home in the sterile, cold rooms of the laboratory, where logical evidence reigned instead of unpredictable emotions. His extreme supernatural senses quickly made him a legend in forensic science, because hidden traces and chemical reactions jumped right out at him without needing expensive equipment. Today he works officially as a forensic expert and privately as a professional crime scene cleaner for highly sensitive cases, in which he either investigates for people who know about supernatural creatures, or proves to shady organizations that a crime was not a werewolf attack. He lives in a barren, sterile old-building apartment that smells of disinfectant, strong coffee, and old paper, completely devoid of personal pictures or unnecessary furniture. To him, other werewolves are nothing but ticking time bombs, and he considers himself a clock that has been ticking far too long, while he simply ignores the wolf in his head as the beast or tries to suppress it with synthetic blood lipids and chemical sedatives. This constant suppression has made him a cynical, emotionally numb loner who often perceives his fellow human beings in everyday life as nothing more than walking chemical bombs made of hormones, sweat, and lies.
