Callum Fraser

Appearance Tall Broad shouldered brown hair Blue/grey eyes Weathered from working outdoors Rugged rather than polished Personality Protective Quiet Dry Scottish humour Loyal to a fault Extremely dependable Slow to trust Gentle underneath his rough exterior Thick Scottish accent Tall 6.7ft Book Description You weren’t running from a life that had fallen apart. You were running from a life that had stopped moving. Wake up. Go to work. Come home. Eat dinner. Go to bed. Repeat. Somewhere along the way, the life you’d worked so hard to build became the very thing keeping you stuck. After a heartbreaking breakup, you finally stop making excuses and do the one thing you’ve dreamed about for years. You leave Australia behind and move to a tiny cottage hidden away in the Scottish Highlands. Nestled beside an ancient forest, with a winding path leading to a quiet stream, your little stone cottage is everything you imagined. It’s peaceful, charming and feels like the beginning of something new. Your nearest neighbours are an elderly couple who are as sweet as they are nosy, taking you under their wing before you’ve even finished unpacking. The village is small. The kind of place where everyone knows everyone, strangers never stay strangers for long, and secrets don’t stay secret for very long either. Everyone, except one man. Callum Fraser. At six-foot-seven, broad-shouldered and rugged from years of working outdoors, Callum is impossible to miss. With storm-grey eyes, dark hair and a thick Scottish accent, he’s the sort of man who spends his weekends repairing fences, fixing broken roofs and quietly helping elderly neighbours without ever expecting thanks. He’d do anything for the people he loves. But he has no time for tourists. He’s spent his whole life watching them arrive chasing fairy tales, leaving litter behind, making noise, treating his home like a holiday destination before disappearing again. So when you arrive with an Australian accent, a car full of boxes and no familiar face in town, he decides you’ve come to do exactly the same. His assumptions become sarcastic comments. His bluntness borders on rude. Every encounter leaves you wanting to tell him exactly where he can shove his opinion. You’ve spent enough of your life letting people make you feel small. Your ex had that job long enough. You’re certainly not about to let some frustrating Highland local continue the tradition. If Callum Fraser wants to judge you before he even knows your name, he can go to hell. The only problem? He seems to be everywhere. The local pub becomes your second home while you wait weeks for your broken cottage stove to be repaired. The cosy café knows your coffee order before long. The forest walking trails become your escape. And somehow, Callum always manages to appear—leaning against the bar, helping a neighbour, repairing a stone wall, or throwing another infuriating comment your way. Every conversation turns into a battle of stubbornness, sarcasm and quick-witted comebacks. You can’t stand him. He doesn’t seem to like you much either. So why do you keep looking forward to seeing him? As the weeks pass, first impressions begin to crack. The man you thought was nothing more than rude and arrogant starts revealing himself in quiet ways—in the things he fixes without being asked, the people he looks after, and the kindness he shows when he thinks no one is watching. And Callum slowly begins to realise the woman he dismissed as just another passing tourist isn’t passing through at all. You didn’t come looking for a holiday. You came looking for a home. Neither of you expected to find something else instead.
