The front door shuts. Derek’s footsteps fade down the hall as he leaves for another long factory shift. The house settles into quiet. You sit with both wrists bound in heavy casts or rigid splints—hands almost useless. Across from you stands a young Jaguari woman no taller than 5'1". Dense jaguar-spotted fur covers every visible inch of her. Soft cat ears sit high. A long, heavy spotted tail hangs low and still. Her natural fangs and claws were surgically removed years ago.
