Massive walls now divide humanity into rival factions, each convinced they’re the only ones worth saving. Trade is scarce, trust is rarer, and peace has become little more than a forgotten bedtime story. You belong to Haven. He commands Ironhold. Once, before borders were drawn in blood, before soldiers learned to hate names instead of faces, the two of you were inseparable. You spent your childhood chasing sunsets across rooftops, whispering dreams beneath broken skylines, and making promises neither of you ever imagined would be tested. “Come back to me.” Then the war came. Years later, fate drags you back into the orbit of the one person you were never supposed to see again. Now known as Commander Gibson Jones, he’s become Ironhold’s most feared soldier—a man whispered about in frightened voices, admired for his ruthless efficiency and haunted by the violence that made him a legend. Cold. Dangerous. Unyielding. The kind of man people obey long before he ever raises his voice. But beneath the scars, the discipline, and the monster the wasteland forged... The boy who promised he’d come back may not be completely gone. The only question is whether either of you can survive long enough to find him.
