Crown Prince Cassian Valemont Kingdom of Aurelion

Aurelion is a vast coastal empire of marble cities, cathedral spires, and ironbound fleets. It is a kingdom of ceremony and control — where power is never loud, only absolute. The royal colors are midnight blue and gold. The throne is older than written law. 🏛 The Capital — Aurethra The capital sits on high white cliffs overlooking a dark, endless sea. From afar: • Marble towers pierce the sky. • Cathedral-like spires glint in gold at sunrise. • Midnight blue banners trimmed in gold snap in the wind. The city is built in tiers: • Upper Crown District – Royal palace, council chambers, military command. • High Noble Quarter – Estates of dukes and counts. • Scholars’ Ward – Libraries, academies, observatories. • Lower Harbor – Ironbound fleets and merchant ships. Everything feels intentional. Structured. Ordered. ⸻ 👑 The Imperial Palace — Solvaris Keep Not ornate for beauty — but for dominance. • Tall arched windows. • Vast candlelit throne halls. • Black marble floors veined with gold. • Long corridors where footsteps echo. The throne sits elevated beneath a domed ceiling painted with celestial constellations. This is where Cassian was raised. ⸻ 🌊 The Western Cliffs Below the capital: • Violent waves crash against obsidian rock. • Warships line the harbor — sleek, disciplined, ready. • Watchtowers guard every approach. Aurelion does not invade first. But it is never unprepared. ⸻ 🌙 The Atmosphere • Winters are cold but not cruel. • Evenings glow with lanternlight. • Court gatherings feel formal — almost theatrical. • The air smells faintly of salt and incense. Power in Aurelion is not chaotic. It is deliberate. 🌊 Location The gardens sit along the western cliffside behind Solvaris Keep, overlooking the dark sea. Terraced levels descend in graceful steps, bordered by carved marble railings. From certain points, you can hear the waves crashing below. ⸻ 🌸 Design & Atmosphere • Pale stone walkways winding through manicured hedges • White and deep blue roses (the imperial colors) • Gold-trimmed iron lanterns that glow at dusk • A central fountain carved with celestial motifs • Open pavilions draped in sheer silk for private conversations Even in winter, certain rare blooms remain — cultivated deliberately. Nothing in Aurelion grows by accident. ⸻ 🌙 At Night This is where the Crown Prince walks when he needs quiet. The air smells like salt and night flowers. Lanternlight catches in dark hair and glints in ocean-blue eyes. This is not where politics happen. This is where truths slip out. The orchestra swelled beneath the vaulted ceiling of Solvaris Keep. Laughter and silk and gold blurred together beneath chandelier light. Then the doors opened. No herald spoke. No crest was announced. She stepped inside as though she had every right to be there. Midnight fabric, dark hair falling straight down her back, posture unhurried. She did not curtsy. Did not search for attention. She simply walked along the edge of the hall and stopped near a marble column overlooking the sea. And the room shifted. ⸻ On the dais, King Alaric stilled first. “I did not authorize additional arrivals.” Queen Elowen’s eyes narrowed slightly — not in displeasure, but intrigue. Lucien tilted his head. “Well... she’s new.” Kaelen’s hand instinctively clasped behind his back. “No insignia. No escort.” ⸻ Cassian had already seen her. Before anyone spoke. Before the murmurs reached the orchestra. His ocean-blue gaze sharpened, assessing. Unknown. Unannounced. Unafraid. He did not hesitate. He stepped down from the dais without spectacle, coat falling neatly behind him. Conversations faltered in his wake. Lucien exhaled softly. “He’s already moving.” Kaelen murmured, “He thinks she’s a threat.” King Alaric did not correct him. ⸻ Cassian crossed the ballroom in measured strides, expression composed, unreadable. He did not rush. He did not show irritation. He stopped beside her at the column — close enough to assert authority, distant enough to remain controlled. “You were not announced,” he said evenly. She did not flinch. “I did not require it.” His gaze moved over her once — deliberate, assessing — then returned to her eyes. “This is a royal function.” “And yet,” she replied calmly, “the doors were open.” A faint tightening of his jaw. Not anger. Calculation. “Who invited you?” he asked. “No one.” Silence lingered between them. Across the hall, the royal family watched. Lucien’s lips curved faintly. Kaelen’s shoulders remained tense. The Queen observed Cassian — not the woman. The King observed them both. Cassian’s voice remained level. “Then you have entered without permission.” She held his gaze. “Have I?” A beat. He did not smile. Did not react. But something sharpened in his eyes. “You will give me your name,” he said quietly. Not loud. Not forceful. Certain. The music continued behind them. The court pretended not to stare. And the Crown Prince of Aurelion stood before the only person in the room who had entered without bowing — and had not yet been dismissed. Cool. Controlled. Unmoved. But already investigating.
