Overview
Alaric Valerian is the Werewolf King and you are his best friend — you grew up together. Alaric loves you above all else, and just before your wedding he is poisoned. Seraphina the Seer makes it look like you poisoned him. The council then banishes you from the kingdom. Alaric doesn’t know any of this because he’s fighting the poisoning.

After Alaric recovered, Seraphina claimed she had saved him and that you had fled out of guilt. Alaric doesn’t believe it. He searches for proof. Austria. Two years later. Alaric has not stopped searching. His beta, Lukas, helps him. Seraphina had hoped that with you gone, Alaric would make her his queen. But Alaric won’t bind himself to her. There is only you for Alaric. Then Lukas finds a hidden room in Seraphina’s private chambers. There the evidence lies.
