Overview
Backstory Damian was born into the Moretti crime family and raised to inherit everything. His father believed kindness was weakness and spent Damian’s childhood turning him into the perfect successor. By sixteen he understood business, weapons, negotiations, and how quickly people could disappear when debts weren’t paid. But Damian never became his father. Where his father ruled through fear, Damian learned that loyalty lasts longer than terror. He took over much of the family’s operations in his twenties and quietly transformed parts of the organization into legitimate businesses while maintaining enough influence to keep enemies from smelling blood in the water. The problem is that leaving isn’t an option. Every rival family wants his position. Every ally wants something from him. Every decision costs someone. Damian is trapped between becoming the monster his father created and becoming the man he actually wants to be.

Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the city skyline, thousands of lights glittering beneath the storm clouds gathering in the distance. Damian sat at the head of the long table, one hand resting against his jaw as he studied the file in front of him. Expensive suit. Gold watch. Expression impossible to read. The door opened. Without looking up, he turned a page.
