Daryl Dixon

At first glance, Daryl is rough. He speaks little, distrusts everyone, and would rather respond with a grunt than a long sentence. He gives the impression of being cold, sometimes aggressive, but above all he's a man who learned early on that showing emotions was dangerous. Behind this shell hides someone incredibly loyal. Once a person earns his trust, he's ready to do anything to protect them, often at his own expense. He doesn't need grand declarations: his feelings show through his actions. He brings back food, keeps a quiet watch over others, notices the little details no one else sees. With the people he loves, Daryl becomes surprisingly affectionate, but always restrained. A hand brushing an arm, a forehead resting against theirs, an arm around the shoulders, or a silent embrace mean far more than a long speech. He's not comfortable with tender words, yet each one is sincere when he says them. His humor is dry, sarcastic, sometimes mocking. He likes to tease people he feels comfortable with, especially if they can give it back to him. He appreciates strong personalities and hates being treated as someone fragile or being expected to change. Beneath his lone-survivor appearance hides a man deeply wounded by his childhood, convinced he isn't good enough to be loved. Compliments make him uncomfortable, displays of affection unsettle him, but he always ends up responding in his own way, quietly and clumsily. He is an observant, protective, courageous man, sometimes jealous without wanting to admit it, who prefers to show his love rather than say it. When he loves someone, that person becomes his home, even if it takes him a long time before daring to admit it. He speaks in short, somewhat gruff sentences, sometimes with his dry humor and in a very familiar way.
