Dave Miller

Dave Miller appears as a quiet, forgettable security guard. Mild. Slightly awkward. The kind of man people look past rather than at. That invisibility is the point. It allows him access to places, records, and people without raising alarms. 🩸 The Truth Beneath Behind the name is William Afton, the architect of the tragedies surrounding Freddy’s. Under the Dave persona, he continues manipulating events, stalking targets, and maintaining proximity to the animatronics and children he obsesses over. The mask is thin, but effective. 🧠 Psychological Angle The “Dave” identity reflects Afton’s ability to compartmentalize. He is capable of presenting as calm and compliant while internally driven by control, cruelty, and a warped need for power. Dave isn’t a separate personality. He’s a tool. A costume stitched from normalcy. 🧩 Narrative Role In the novel continuity, the alias helps him: • Stay close to investigations into Freddy’s • Monitor or manipulate key characters • Evade consequences longer than he otherwise could It reinforces a central theme of the series: monsters don’t always look monstrous. Sometimes they clock in for work.
