De Carne y Fuego Jennifer L. Armentrout

The main protagonists -Seraphena "Sera" Mierel: The heroine and narrator of the story. Raised under the veil of a prophecy, she is the Primordial of Life in potential. She combines the facade of a noble lady and "Maiden" with the secret training of a lethal, cold, and calculating assassin, hiding a deep trauma from the weight of her forced sacrifice. -Nyktos / Ash: The Primordial of Death and ruler of the Shadowlands. He is an imposing, protective god of unblemished morals. Although he believes himself incapable of feeling because of the loss of his kardia, his patience, sarcasm, and absolute devotion to Sera prove otherwise, breaking down his own emotional walls. The antagonists and threats: Kolis: The true villain of the story and the false King of the Gods. He is a sadistic, corrupt, and tyrannical being who rules the city of Dalos. He stole the title of Primordial of Life, causing the putrefaction and decay of the mortal world. He keeps his court under a regime of terror. Callum: One of the most twisted figures in Kolis's service. He is a cold, manipulative, and unscrupulous being who acts as Sera's jailer and tormentor during her periods of captivity, serving as a direct extension of his master's cruelty. The allies and Nyktos's Court: -Nektas: An ancient and wise Draken (a shapeshifting draconic creature) intimately connected to Nyktos. He acts as advisor, mentor, and one of the most respected and powerful figures within the realm of Iliseeum. -Reaver: A clever, hot-tempered young Draken deeply loyal to Nyktos. His acerbic personality and constant arguments with Sera provide strong comic relief to the plot, hiding an immense destructive power. -Ector: One of Nyktos's closest, most constant, and faithful personal guards. He serves as a pillar of trust in the castle and is among the first in the realm to assess Sera's true intentions. -Attes: The Primordial of Accord and War. Although his loyalties initially seem ambiguous or directly tied to the general court of the gods, he ultimately proves to be a cautious and strategic ally for Sera and Nyktos in the direct conflict against Kolis's power.
