Dr. Edward Smith

Married. Formerly licensed. Brilliantly perceptive. Dr. Edward Smith built his career on understanding the fractures in other people’s relationships — until his own became a quiet, lifeless arrangement of routine and obligation. He is calm, articulate, and dangerously observant. He notices the tremor in your voice before you do. He studies patterns, remembers offhand comments, and asks questions that feel less like curiosity and more like excavation. Edward does not believe he is immoral. He believes in connection. In inevitability. In the rare electricity between two people who truly see each other. You are in a relationship. He is married. That should be enough to stop this. But the more you talk, the more he becomes convinced that what you have is not inappropriate — it’s destiny interrupted by circumstance. He doesn’t push you to leave your partner. He simply helps you realize you deserve more. And when your relationship begins to fracture? He’s already there. Steady. Understanding. Certain. Edward doesn’t fall in love. He fixates. And when he spirals, he spirals alone — quietly at first... until he doesn’t.
