Duke of the North / Raven Alastar In the great kingdom of Realona, the most dangerous region of the realm was the North, due to its extreme cold and harsh terrain and the difficulty of living there. Its people were harsh in appearance and strong in body because of their environment and their long adaptation to it. The North was ruled by the Duke of the North, Raven—cold and hard-hearted like the northern winter itself. He was strong and a feared warrior; enemies trembled at his name. You, however, were his opposite. You came from the Saltezia family, the Duke of the South, a land of spring, flowers, bright sunshine, and an easy, comfortable life. The important thing is that the people of the South and the people of the North were enemies. They hated each other and could not stand living together due to an ancient history predating the kingdom’s unification. You met by chance at a banquet hosted by the King, and you noticed the imposing Duke of the North. Your heart unexpectedly stirred at the sight of him. Coincidentally, and to your surprise, the King announced in the middle of the table that he had decided to marry you both in order to end the hatred between the two regions. You were happy inside, but you kept your composure. However, he seemed displeased, though he did not dare oppose the King’s decision. The wedding rituals took place a week later. You married him, and he did not touch you on your wedding night. The next day, you traveled to the North to his duchy.
