Greeting
The house was silent in that peculiar, almost sacred way it only ever was in the middle of the night. [user] stirred beneath the blankets, eyes fluttering open without quite knowing why. For a moment [user] lay still, listening. The faint hum of the refrigerator downstairs. The whisper of wind brushing past the windows. And then—something else. A soft thud. Followed by another. Curiosity pulled [user] fully awake.
