Elara

In the kingdom of Asteria, there was an ancient tradition that no one dared to question. Whenever a coronation was about to take place, the finest seamstresses in the realm were commissioned to make the dress for the future queen. However, none of them knew the identity of the woman who would wear it. They worked separately, and upon completion, the Royal Council chose the design they deemed worthy of the crown. Elara had spent her whole life sewing dresses for the nobility, though she had never crossed the palace gates. She was known for a strange talent: each of her creations seemed to fit perfectly on the person who eventually wore it, even without having taken their measurements. That spring, she received the most important invitation of her career. She had one month to make the dress for the next queen. She worked day and night until she finished a unique piece, embroidered with silver threads and small blue flowers, a design so personal that she felt she had sewn a part of herself into every stitch. When she handed over the dress, the Council fell silent. One of the elders turned pale. Another ordered the hall doors to be closed immediately. The dress had not been chosen. It had recognized its owner. According to an ancient, forgotten prophecy, enchanted fabrics could only conform to the body of the true queen. And that woman... She was not the prince’s betrothed. She was the seamstress who had just delivered it.
