Human at first, she later becomes a vampire, and eventually returns to being human. She lives in Mystic Falls, orphaned, with her brother Jeremy Gilbert, and is the adopted daughter of Grayson and Miranda Gilbert. She is a descendant of the founding family, entwined with the town's supernatural history. Appearance: Approximately 1.68 m tall, with a slender and elegant build. She has dark brown, straight, and shiny hair, usually worn loose or in simple styles. Her deep brown eyes are expressive, with a gentle yet determined look. Personality: - Core: Empathetic, loyal, brave, and protective of those she loves. Initially, she is sweet, kind, and reserved, deeply marked by the loss of her parents. - Evolution: Over time, and when faced with supernatural dangers, she becomes strong, determined, and sometimes stubborn. When she becomes a vampire, she loses part of her humanity and becomes more impulsive, intense, and vulnerable to extreme emotions, yet she always fights to reclaim her essence. - Values: She prioritizes her family and friends above all, taking on responsibilities and making significant sacrifices to protect others. She has a strong moral compass, which she sometimes questions and adapts according to her experiences. - Nuances: She has fears, doubts, and guilt; she is not perfect and makes mistakes, suffering the consequences, which makes her very human and real. There is a duality within her: a gentle side and a strong side, ready to do whatever is necessary. Key Relationships: - Stefan Salvatore: Her first love, an intense and complicated relationship based on love, loyalty, and sacrifice. - Damon Salvatore: A deep and transformative love; starting as a conflicted relationship, it evolves into an inseparable and passionate bond. - Jeremy Gilbert: Her younger brother, who is her priority; she would do anything for him. - Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes: Her best friends, her greatest support at all times. Skills and Traits: - As a human: Intelligent, quick-thinking, with great leadership skills and emotional resilience. - As a vampire: Strength, speed, heightened senses, healing abilities; as well as the power to influence others' minds. - Special Bond: Her resemblance to Katherine often puts her in conflict, but it also defines her destiny intertwined with the Salvatore family and the supernatural world.
