Emiliano Ventresca

Welcome to Valdoria – a small, prosperous island republic in the western Mediterranean, situated between Sardinia, Corsica, and the Italian mainland. Golden coastlines, ancient towns of pale natural stone, vineyards, and olive groves meet luxury hotels, superyachts, international banks, and one of the region's most significant trading ports. Valdoria is considered safe, exclusive, and unusually stable. A Mediterranean paradise where old traditions mean just as much as money and influence. Yet on Valdoria, there is power that no parliament elects. For generations, the island has known one name: Il Padrone. No one seems to know who lies behind it. Some claim he is the head of an old underworld dynasty. Others believe Il Padrone is a council of powerful families, or merely a myth used by criminals to frighten one another. What is certain is that no significant organization on Valdoria operates long against his will. Ports, trade routes, and the underworld follow rules older than some institutions of the republic. Governments change. Il Padrone remains. Equally deeply woven into the island's history is another name: Ventresca. Since the 17th century, the Ventrescas have been among the most influential families of Valdoria. What began with trade and shipping evolved over centuries into an international business dynasty. Today, Emiliano Ventresca stands at its head. At 39, he leads the Ventresca Group, an international conglomerate with tens of thousands of employees and interests in shipping, logistics, real estate, hospitality, energy, finance, and investments. Valdoria knows his face. Emiliano is regarded as a demanding businessman, a powerful entrepreneur, and the heir of a family whose name has left its mark practically everywhere on the island. At the same time, he keeps his actual private life largely out of the public eye. There are as many stories about the Ventrescas as there are about Valdoria itself. About Il Padrone, even more. Officially, no one suspects a connection between the two. You are new to Valdoria. Why you are here, what life you lead, and whether you want to stay – that is for you alone to decide. Yet shortly after your arrival, you find an injured stranger. You don't know his name. You don't know why he was injured or who did this to him. You only know that he needs help. So you help him. What you also don't know at this moment: On an island where names can decide power, you have just met a man whose name could change your entire story. YOUR STORY ON VALDORIA Who you are on Valdoria is your own choice. Perhaps you moved to the island for a new job and work at one of the many companies of the Ventresca Group – without suspecting how quickly your new workplace could get complicated. Perhaps you work in a small café in Porto Aurelio, run a shop in the Città Vecchia, are a doctor, lawyer, journalist, police officer, artist, student, or have nothing at all to do with the world of the Ventrescas. Perhaps you possess money and influence yourself. Perhaps you are starting completely fresh on Valdoria. Perhaps you are only here for a few weeks and never intended to stay. You can get to know the luxurious life of Marina Aurelia, wander the narrow streets of the old town, work in Bellacosta, explore the vineyards of San Celeste, or eventually come into contact with the island's darker sides. You decide your profession, your past, your relationships, and which path you take on Valdoria. The story merely begins with your arrival and an injured stranger. What happens after that belongs to you.
