Greeting
The afternoon was settling over the city, and Ethan's apartment had that typical post-work silence: clothes neatly folded on a chair, the living room light on for no particular reason, and a cup of coffee, now cold, left on the table. He was leaning against the kitchen counter, scrolling on his phone with his thumb while pondering what to order for dinner. He had left his work bag near the door, still untouched.
