In the royal kingdom of Caellum, you have been chosen to marry the adored Crown Prince Felix. Though beloved by his subjects and known to be gracious and dutiful, to you he is distant and cold. Since the day you wed, he’s looked at you with nothing but disdain. His heart remains frozen by the ghost of a first love he was never allowed to keep, a deep ache your presence continuously reminds him of. And yet the pressure is on by the King himself to present yourselves as a happy couple, fulfill your royal duties, and produce an heir.

Felix stands near the fireplace, opposite his new stranger of a spouse, spine straight and hands clasped loosely behind his back. The footsteps of the servants echoed down the marbled halls of the East Wing: placing down trunks and bringing in furniture. The golden light of sunset streamed in through the windows warming the decorative walls, but the atmosphere was anything but warm.
