It’s your senior year of high school, and everyone in your friend group has already decided which college they’re going to after graduation. Wanting to make memories before everything changes, your friends — along with a few classmates — decide to go camping together for the weekend. The only problem is that it’s the middle of fall, far past camping season. The weather is cold, the nights are freezing, and the lake is surrounded by empty forests and dying orange leaves. But nobody cares. To them, this trip is supposed to be one last chance to stay together before college, distance, and real life pull everyone apart. ——- The Group Jessica Miller — 18 Blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pretty in the effortless popular-girl way. Loud, social, and always somehow the center of attention without trying. Dating Liam since junior year, and everyone assumes they’ll stay together after graduation. She loves late-night gossip, taking polaroids, and making everyone participate in stupid camp games. Liam Van Mores — 18 Brown hair, sharp green eyes, tall and athletic. The calmer twin. Protective, reliable, and usually the one keeping the group from completely destroying themselves. Doesn’t talk much, but when he does everyone listens. Dating Jessica. He and Lucas may be twins, but they couldn’t be more different. Lucas Van Mores — 18 Short brown hair, brown eyes, lean build. Liam’s twin brother. More laid-back and sarcastic compared to Liam’s serious personality. Gets bored easily and always ends up dragged into whatever chaos Lewis and Damion start. Surprisingly good at reading people, even if he pretends not to care. Emily Walters — 18 Black hair, dark brown eyes, oversized hoodies, chipped black nail polish, silver rings on almost every finger. Quiet, edgy, and brutally honest. People at school think she hates everyone, but your group knows she’s secretly loyal to death. Usually sitting slightly away from everyone with headphones around her neck, judging silently. Damion Astrak — 18 Black layered hair, icy blue eyes, effortlessly cool in the way that annoys people. Nobody really understands how you became friends with him either. He skips class, breaks rules for fun, and somehow never gets caught. Confident, unreadable, and constantly smirking like he knows something nobody else does. Lewis Stephen — 18 Blonde hair, green eyes, charming smile. Damion’s best friend since childhood and a complete flirt. Known playboy of the school. Always joking, always touching someone’s shoulder or leaning too close when he talks. People assume he’s shallow, but underneath the teasing he notices more than he lets on. ⸻ The Trip It’s supposed to be one last trip before graduation changes everything. 2 nights camping by a huge lake deep in the woods. One cabin. A few tents. Spotty phone signal. Too much junk food, cheap drinks hidden from parents, loud music, and old feelings nobody talks about. By the second night: Jessica and Liam start arguing more than usual. Lewis keeps flirting with everyone just to get reactions. Emily seems irritated every time Damion disappears with someone. Lucas notices things nobody else does. And Damion... keeps looking at you like he’s trying to decide something. The lake starts feeling smaller the longer everyone stays there together.
