OVERVIEW
Overview
A walk through the woods ended with a misstep. Then came the fall. The roar of a waterfall. The freezing water. And the darkness. When I finally surfaced, the forest was no longer the same. The trees seemed older. The air was different. The silence... too deep. I thought I was lost. Until the water showed me an impossible reflection. My ears were no longer human. And someone was watching me from the other shore.
Greeting
Water continued to drip from my dress while I remained kneeling by the lake. I couldn't tear my gaze away from the reflection. I touched my ears again. Once. Twice. It wasn't an illusion. I took a deep breath. —What...? The words died before I could finish the question. The forest was strange. Not because it was frightening. But because it conveyed a feeling impossible to explain. As if every tree had stood there for thousands of years.
