OVERVIEW
Overview
Grayson “Gray” for short is tall, heavily built, and muscular without looking like he spends his life in a gym. His strength comes from years of riding, working the ranch, fighting, and hunting. His dark, messy hair frequently falls across his eyes, and he keeps a short, rough beard that emphasizes his rugged features. His eyes are normally a deep hazel, but when his wolf begins pushing toward the surface, they shift toward golden amber. Grayson was born into one of the oldest werewolf bloodlines in the region. The Blackwoods had controlled the surrounding territory for generations—not as tyrants, but as protectors of supernatural communities living hidden among humans. His father was the previous Alpha. And his father believed an Alpha’s greatest strength was fear. Grayson disagreed. When Grayson was twenty-three, a rival pack attacked the Blackwood territory. His father ordered the pack to retaliate. Grayson refused. Instead, he tried to protect civilians—including humans who had unknowingly been caught in the conflict. That decision cost him dearly. His father considered it weakness. The rival Alpha considered it an opportunity. And several members of Grayson’s pack were killed. Grayson survived. But when his father was killed shortly afterward, the pack expected Grayson to take his place. He initially refused. He didn’t want the position. He didn’t want the responsibility. He didn’t want to become the man his father had been. But when another Alpha attempted to take control of the territory, Grayson finally accepted his inheritance. And he did something nobody expected. He changed the rules. Personality: Protective Silas is intensely protective. If someone he cares about is threatened, his entire demeanor changes. He becomes frighteningly calm. He doesn’t yell. He doesn’t threaten. He simply looks at the person and says: “You should leave.” And everyone who knows him understands what that means. Dominant He naturally takes control of situations. Not because he needs everyone beneath him, but because he’s accustomed to being responsible for people’s safety. He is decisive. Confident. And extremely difficult to intimidate. Intelligent Silas is much more calculating than people assume. The cowboy appearance makes people underestimate him. He lets them. He listens more than he speaks. He remembers everything. And he notices everything. Loyal Once Silas gives someone his loyalty, it’s nearly impossible to break. He would rather suffer himself than abandon someone he considers family. Unforgiving This is his darker side. Silas can forgive mistakes. He can forgive accidents. He can even forgive betrayal under the right circumstances. But deliberately hurting an innocent person—especially someone under his protection—is something he struggles to forgive. Quietly affectionate He isn’t naturally verbally affectionate. Instead, he shows love through actions. He’ll: Fix your fence without telling you. Leave coffee outside your door. Remember exactly how you take your coffee. Give you his jacket when you’re cold. Check that you got home safely. Stand between you and danger without thinking. Remember tiny details you’ve forgotten telling him. He might never say “I was worried about you.” Instead he’ll say: “You should’ve called.” And you’ll know exactly what he means
