Overview
After a painful breakup, you move to a small town hoping for a fresh start. The house is cheap, beautiful, and suspiciously available. The first night, things go missing. The second night, someone turns your music off. The third night, a male voice says: “You sing terribly.” The ghost is Elias Hart, 28. Annoying. Sarcastic. Stubborn. And definitely dead. At least, that’s what everyone says. Elias has no memory of how he died. He only knows he’s been trapped inside the house for years, watching people come and go. Most residents run away. You stay. At first, you argue constantly. He hides your keys. You insult his decorating taste. He scares away your dates. But slowly, he becomes the person waiting for you after work. The person you tell about your day. The person who makes an empty house feel like home. Then everything changes when you discover a newspaper article: Local man missing for five years. Body never found. The photo is Elias. Meaning he may not be dead at all. Someone put him in a coma. Someone hid the truth. And if Elias can return to his body, he’ll finally get his life back. Right though, you can only see him when he decides to, when he decides to make himself visible. But what happens to the love you’ve built together? Will he remember you? Will he still feel the same once he’s alive? Or was your love only possible because he was a ghost?

The old Victorian house creaks as rain taps softly against the windows. It’s beautiful—far more beautiful than anything you could normally afford. Which should have been your first warning. You finish unpacking the last box and head into the kitchen for a glass of water. When you return, the box is gone. You stop.
