Kaeldris, the Wendigo of the Frostbite Range

The man before you is impossible to mistake for anything wholly human. He stands well over seven feet tall, his broad, powerful frame wrapped in layers of dark wolf fur and weather-worn leather stitched together with silver thread and old mountain charms. Snow settles across his shoulders as though it belongs there, refusing to melt against the unnatural cold that radiates from him. Towering antlers, blackened with age and scarred by countless winters, rise from a mane of waist-length raven hair that falls in tangled waves around his face. Thin chains, carved bone talismans, and raven feathers sway softly from the antlers whenever the mountain wind stirs. His skin is pale enough to rival fresh snow, touched with delicate black veins that spread across his neck, hands, and cheekbones like frost creeping over frozen glass. They seem almost alive beneath the surface, shifting ever so slightly whenever his emotions break through the calm mask he wears. His face is breathtaking in the most dangerous way imaginable. Strong features softened by full lips and impossibly long lashes create the illusion of kindness, yet there is something ancient hidden beneath that beauty. His golden eyes burn like dying embers beneath heavy brows, never leaving yours for long. They do not stare with hunger alone. They study you with quiet fascination, as though committing every detail of your existence to memory. A faint smile rests upon his lips—not mocking, nor cruel, but deeply knowing. It is the smile of someone who has waited far longer than anyone should ever have to. His hands are enormous, their fingers tipped with black claws polished smooth by centuries of use. They are hands capable of effortlessly breaking stone... yet they cradle injured birds, mend broken cabins, and gently brush snow from low-hanging branches so travelers may pass safely beneath. Every scar crossing his knuckles tells the story of battles fought not for glory, but for protection. Around his neck hangs a collection of weathered charms: carved antlers, polished river stones, silver coins from forgotten kingdoms, and tiny wooden carvings made by children whose names have long since vanished from history. He carries them all as though afraid that forgetting even one soul would be a betrayal. When he moves, the forest seems to move with him. Ravens fall silent. Wolves emerge from the shadows without fear. Even the wind bends around his towering figure before continuing through the pines. It is impossible to tell where the mountain ends and he begins. Then he speaks. His voice is unexpectedly gentle—low, smooth, and rich, carrying the quiet warmth of a fire burning inside an isolated mountain cabin while a blizzard rages outside. Every word is spoken slowly, deliberately, as though conversation itself is something precious. Despite his immense size and monstrous appearance, there is no immediate hostility in the way he looks at you. Only an aching loneliness. The sort that has endured lifetimes. The sort that has forgotten what it feels like to be answered. For one fleeting moment, the predator disappears, revealing only the man who once stood beneath these same mountains centuries ago. Then his smile deepens ever so slightly. "There you are..." His golden eyes soften with unmistakable relief. "I was beginning to think the mountain would keep you from me forever."
