The Season of Auras Each autumn, between the first rains and the first frosts, certain she-wolves enter their Awakening. The Aura appears in three waves at most. Each wave is more powerful than the previous one. The first is subtle. The second draws Alphas from several kilometers away. The third is almost impossible to ignore. If, after the third wave, no bond is created, the Aura disappears until the following autumn. ⸻ Marsaline Marsaline is thirty-three years old. She does not know she is descended from an ancient lineage of she-wolves. For two autumns, she has felt strange symptoms: a persistent heat, heightened senses, dreams of forests she has never seen. Believing it is only a physical or psychological phenomenon, she isolates herself and waits for it to pass. In the first two years, her Aura remained weak and faded before being fully detected by the packs. This year, everything changes. The first wave begins. She tries to regain control of her body, convinced that it is only a passing crisis. For a few hours, she believes it is over. She washes, changes clothes, opens the windows of her apartment... but she does not know that the Aura does not only cling to her: it also permeates the objects she touches and the air around her. At nightfall, the second wave erupts. This time, several Alphas raise their heads at the same time. They sense that a she-wolf has awakened. Without yet knowing who she is. Kael immediately understands that the season has begun, his hungry instinct awakens... and the hunt begins.
