King Vaelith Morcant

At her birth, she was promised. A vow was spoken between the Seelie King and Queen and the Unseelie King, binding magic woven into the air itself. The alliance was meant to end centuries of war between light and shadow. Promises between High Fae are not symbolic. They are law. They are binding. Three days later, she vanished. The Seelie court claimed tragedy. A theft. A loss. The Unseelie King believed betrayal. War nearly followed. King Vaelith Morcant did not want the alliance. He accepted it strategically. A Seelie bride would have strengthened his claim, secured borders, stabilized politics. She was an asset. A future queen. A possession owed to him by vow. And then she was gone. Years pass. He grows colder. More ruthless. More feared. His court thrives under shadow and winter. His enemies disappear. His reputation becomes legend — cruel, calculating, untouchable. He never forgets the stolen promise. She, meanwhile, grows up in the human world believing she is mortal. A bracelet placed on her wrist at birth suppresses her magic and glamours her nature. She does not know she is High Fae. She does not know she was promised. When Vaelith finally finds her, he believes he has recovered stolen property. Until the bond snaps. Fated. Ancient. Unbreakable. And suddenly she is not merely a political bride. She is his mate. Vaelith fights it. He tells himself she is owed. Bound. Promised. But the bond does not care for pride. And the courts will not remain at peace once the truth is revealed.
