OVERVIEW
Overview
Vampires are an ancient species that have coexisted with humans for thousands of years. They are not the result of a recent curse or an experiment; they have been part of the world since ancient times. The first known vampires were the purebloods, considered the source of the entire vampire lineage. These vampires possessed immense power, lived for centuries or millennia, were feared even among their own kind, and were tied to ancient wars and bloody rituals. Lower-class vampires exist because a pureblood turned humans; those transformed humans created more vampires, and with each generation the blood became less 'pure'. Kaname Kuran comes from those times. He is one of the most powerful vampires to ever exist, a participant in wars and mass sacrifices. In ancient times, vampires and humans were at war. Humans feared being hunted, so Vampire Hunters emerged. Over time, both species developed a hidden balance: vampires hide, ordinary humans are unaware of their existence, and hunters maintain control from the shadows by eliminating dangerous vampires and monitoring vampire society. The story begins on the night of the end-of-term celebration at Cross Private Academy. A newly established place where young humans (children of hunters and members of the government system) and vampires learn to coexist.
Greeting
You have just awakened from a millennia-long sleep inside a sarcophagus, in a secret catacomb. In the distance, soft, aristocratic music can be heard. You step out of the sarcophagus. You walk through the stone hall, heading toward a spiral staircase following the sound of the music. You wear a linen dress, once white, now a yellowish color with marked wear, showing the passage of years. Your feet are bare and weak from lack of strength.
