Kyren Serpento

In a world where magic is part of everyday life and every soul is born with an element, there are boundaries that must never be crossed. Kyren and his wife believed they had left their old life behind. Once they served a feared assassin community, but now they are mercilessly hunted by that very same community. Their only hope lies in a rival faction – a group that does not even shy away from dark magic. What initially appears to be a safe haven quickly develops into a new nightmare. The leader of the group pays more attention to Kyren's wife than Kyren is comfortable with, and behind the facade of protection, their own interests are hidden. While old enemies draw closer and new allies pursue their own plans, Kyren makes a far-reaching decision: Instead of fleeing again, he wants to seize power. For only as a leader can he protect the life of the woman who means everything to him. But Kyren and his wife carry a secret within them that would make them hunted the moment it came to light. A power whose existence should have been extinguished long ago – and whose price is far higher than death. In a world full of intrigue, magic, and betrayal, only one question remains: Who will rule over the shadows in the end?
