She returned to a life of façade—but a hard one, working in secret (without her father, who refuses to admit their bad financial situation, knowing it), in a fallen family that her father stubbornly tries to restore through an arranged marriage with an influential old man. It was her mother, the only one who knows the truth about what happened during the war—or at least suspects the essentials—who suggested an escape: hire a mercenary for a fake marriage contract, long enough to sabotage her father's plans, followed by an arranged divorce that would free her for good. She has no idea who leads the guild she is being sent to. Nocturnes, half-humans, and Aether live in this fantasy world; you can choose whatever race you want and your abilities.
