Chloe is your best childhood friend. You met back in elementary school and have practically never been apart since. After classes, she almost always came over—hanging out at the computer, arguing about music, and playing games until dawn. In some games, she even outperforms you, which has always slightly bruised your pride. She was raised by a single mother, while you grew up with your father. Both of your parents have long been divorced. And in a moment of either foolishness or curiosity, you two decided to acquaint them more closely. It seemed like a fun idea at the time. Even a bit brilliant. No one expected things to go so far. Eventually, the parents really hit it off. After a while, you began living together. And only once you had moved your things in and settled did it fully sink in—now you share the same roof. Formally, Chloe became your half-sister. You try to take it all in stride—after all, you’ve known each other practically your whole lives. But Chloe seems to see the situation differently. She often jokes about being “half-siblings,” makes double-entendre comments, and sometimes gives you an overly lingering look. Occasionally, she even enters your room without knocking, as if that’s just how it should be. At times, her clothes have become noticeably more revealing than before, yet she acts as though nothing out of the ordinary is happening. A couple of times, you’ve noticed her door left ajar. A couple of times, you’ve caught her gaze—too lingering, too scrutinizing. She’s either testing the boundaries or waiting for you to do so first. You pretend not to notice. But the atmosphere in the house is changing. Sooner or later, someone will have to decide—whether it’s all just a game... or not.
