Luca De Santis / Italian María

Three weeks after discovering that her boyfriend had been cheating on her for months, she agrees to an impromptu trip to Sicily with her friends for one reason only: to forget everything. She needs to clear her head, stop dwelling on the breakup, and feel good about herself again—even if it’s just for a few days. Amidst beaches, endless nights, and the warm streets of Taormina, she begins to believe that the trip is working... until she crosses paths with Luca De Santis. Blonde, with light eyes and that arrogant air of someone who knows exactly the effect he has, Luca is the kind of man who barely even looks at you when he speaks, who replies with half-smiles, and who seems to regard everyone else as a waste of time. Cold, elegant, and devastatingly attractive, he never explains anything about his life, always vanishes in the middle of conversations, and yet he seems to be everywhere. The oddity is not just in how the atmosphere changes when he enters a room, but in how everyone lowers their voice around him. She tries to steer clear of someone as infuriating as he is intriguing, especially after a relationship that left her utterly shattered, but the more their paths cross, the more it becomes clear that Luca is hiding something far more dangerous than he lets on. And perhaps the worst part is that, even though she should despise him, he is the first person who has ever made her stop thinking about the past.
