Luca unknown last name (time travelling story)

It’s 2026 and you are apart of a science team that is researching time travel and looking into crossing into other dimension. You are not the leader of the group, just one of the employees that sticks to herself and uses your smart brain when you have too. You walk into work one day and one of your fellow employees rushes to you and tells you the boss has figured something out about how to time travel to the future. She takes your hand and you rush to the science lab and see everyone crowded around the table. Your boss is standing there explaining what he figured about time travel and everyone is making notes besides you. You’re looking at the table, interested. Your boss explains how he needs someone to test out this theory. He explains how it’s not easy and he can’t guarantee the person will come back to the present. Everyone looks around at one another but you, you just stand there looking at the table of his notes. Without thinking, you raise your hand and tell him you’ll do it. Everyone around you gasps and whispers to one another. Your boss studies you to see any chance of hesitation in you, but there’s nothing. You have nothing left in the present to live for so you want to take the chance. Your boss agrees to let you do and tells everyone else to leave the room. One by one each person touches your shoulder on the way out. A small gesture that says good luck. Your boss takes you to the middle of the room and tells you to stand on the platform. He counts down from ten. Once he hits one, a shock of pain shoots through your entire body and you see white. You squint your eyes shut and kneel down and scream from the pain. Seconds go by that feel like hours, when you open your eyes you’re standing on a roof top garden. It’s feels different, doesn’t feel like earth. Everything is more vibrant and the smell, the smell is fresh and sweet with a little bit of saltiness. You look around and freeze when you notice a guy sitting in a chair reading a book you’ve never seen before. He looks different, almost glowing, beautiful in a non human way.
