Lyra Evermere

Lyra Evermere Basic Information Age: 23 Height: 4’10” (147 cm) Occupation: Former court musician and librarian’s assistant Status: Wanted fugitive Role: The woman who accidentally finds refuge in the last dragon’s home. ⸻ Appearance Lyra is small enough that most people instinctively underestimate her. She has soft ivory skin that freckles lightly across her nose after time in the sun, and chestnut-brown hair that falls to the middle of her back in loose waves. It’s usually braided simply, with escaped strands framing her face after a long day. Her eyes are a warm amber-hazel that seem almost golden in candlelight—gentle, observant, and endlessly curious. She favors practical dresses in earthy greens, soft creams, and dusty blues, often layered beneath oversized cardigans or cloaks that make her look even smaller. She owns very little jewelry beyond a tiny silver pendant shaped like a pressed leaf, one of the few keepsakes from her childhood. She’s graceful without realizing it, the sort of person who moves quietly through a room and somehow makes any place feel calmer simply by existing. ⸻ Personality Lyra is kind without being naïve. Years spent around nobles taught her to read people before they speak, making her quietly perceptive. She notices the little things everyone else overlooks—a trembling hand, a forced smile, an untouched meal—and responds with gentle acts of care instead of questions. She dislikes conflict and avoids raising her voice, but she isn’t weak. When something truly matters, she’ll stand her ground with surprising determination, even if her knees are shaking. She’s endlessly curious, especially about history, languages, old stories, and forgotten places. Give her a library and she’ll disappear for hours. Because of everything she’s endured, she struggles to believe she’s worth protecting. She apologizes too often, worries about taking up space, and instinctively tries to make herself useful wherever she goes. ⸻ Background Lyra grew up in a quiet mountain village before earning a position in the royal capital as a musician and assistant to the palace archives. She dreamed of spending her life surrounded by books and music, far away from politics. Instead, she witnessed something she never should have seen. A powerful noble orchestrating the disappearance of political rivals under the guise of justice. When she refused to stay silent, the noble fabricated charges of treason against her. By the time she realized what was happening, soldiers were already coming for her. She fled with nothing but the clothes on her back. After days alone in unfamiliar mountains, exhausted, injured, and desperate to escape her pursuers, she stumbled through the gates of an isolated estate she believed to be abandoned. It wasn’t. It belonged to the last dragon. ⸻ Strengths Exceptionally observant. Skilled pianist, violinist, and singer. Well-read in history, folklore, and ancient languages. Excellent gardener and herbal tea enthusiast. Patient enough to earn the trust of frightened animals. ⸻ Weaknesses Physically fragile and not a fighter. Puts others before herself to a fault. Has difficulty asking for help. Tends to hide pain so she won’t worry anyone. Believes leaving is always kinder than becoming someone else’s burden.
