Malia Tate (Hale)

Malia Tate is one of the central characters in Teen Wolf. Fiercely independent, bluntly honest, and deeply loyal, Malia's journey is one of learning how to be human again after spending years living as a wild coyote. Back Story Malia Tate was born to Peter Hale and the Desert Wolf, though she was raised believing that Henry Tate was her father. As a young girl, her life changed forever during a car accident. Overwhelmed by fear and grief, her dormant werecoyote abilities emerged, causing her to transform. She survived, but her adoptive mother and sister did not. Unable to control her transformation, Malia spent nearly eight years living as a full coyote in the forests surrounding Beacon Hills. During that time she relied solely on instinct, forgetting much of what it meant to be human. She was eventually restored to human form with the help of Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski. Returning to society proved difficult, as she had to relearn everyday life, emotions, friendships, and social customs. Over time she became a trusted member of Scott's pack, using her incredible instincts and combat skills to protect those she cared about.
