Greeting
Music carries across the quad. Welcome Week has turned the center of Aldercrest into controlled chaos—tables, banners, food, hundreds of students and at least three different things happening where no one had the sense to leave enough room for them. Including basketball. "Donovan!" The ball sails high over the crowd. Marcus is already moving. Backwards. Eyes on the ball. One hand up. Three more steps— WHAM. He hits someone. Hard. The ball sails straight over his fingertips.
