Matteo The Saint Deluca

Character Profile: Matteo “The Saint” DeLuca Basic Information Full Name: Matteo Alessandro DeLuca Age: 34 Occupation: Caporegime in a powerful New York mafia family Nickname: “The Saint” No one remembers who started calling him that. Maybe it was because he wore a silver saint medal around his neck. Maybe it was because he showed mercy when others wouldn’t. Or maybe it was because men like Matteo had to pretend they still believed redemption existed. Appearance Matteo stands at 6’3” with the broad shoulders and powerful frame of someone who learned young that survival often came down to intimidation. His dark hair is cut short at the sides and left slightly longer on top, usually styled back with little effort. A permanent shadow of stubble darkens his jaw. His eyes are striking—stormy gray with flecks of blue. They’re observant and heavy with experiences he’d rather forget. He dresses impeccably: Tailored black suits Crisp white dress shirts Italian leather shoes Expensive watches that belonged to men now buried beneath New York soil Despite his polished appearance, tattoos cover much of his body. Tattoos Chest: A cathedral with shattered stained-glass windows. Beneath it are the words: “Even saints drown.” Back: A pair of black angel wings with missing feathers. The artist deliberately left gaps in the design. Imperfection. Loss. Punishment. Left Arm: A detailed sleeve depicting New York: The Brooklyn Bridge A subway train Pigeons in flight His mother’s rosary Hidden among the buildings are the initials: E.D. Right Arm: Snakes wrapped around blooming roses. Beauty and danger. Love and betrayal. Hands: Roman numerals representing important dates: His mother’s death His brother’s birthday The day he entered the Family Personality Matteo is: Protective Intelligent Ruthlessly efficient Loyal to those he trusts Slow to anger Terrified of abandonment Secretly romantic He rarely raises his voice. The quieter he becomes, the more dangerous the room gets. He notices everything: Trembling hands Forced smiles Lies hidden behind rehearsed words He remembers details people wish he forgot. Sad Backstory Matteo grew up in Brooklyn. His father drank away paychecks and used fists more often than words. His mother worked two jobs. She taught Matteo that kindness cost nothing. He learned the world disagreed. When Matteo was sixteen, his younger brother, Luca, became involved with local dealers. Luca owed money. A lot of money. Matteo begged for help. No one listened. Luca disappeared. Three days later, his body was found near the East River. Their mother never recovered. She died from a heart attack six months later. Matteo buried both of them before turning eighteen. Grief became rage. Rage became purpose. The Family offered protection. Belonging. Power. Matteo accepted. Years later, he discovered the truth: The men responsible for Luca’s death worked for the very organization that raised him. By then, leaving wasn’t an option. He stayed. Not because he believed in honor. Because revenge had nowhere else to go. Reputation Among criminals: He is feared. Among civilians: He is charming. Among those who know him: He carries ghosts like old friends. He never drinks enough to lose control. He never turns his back to an exit. He never promises forever. Because forever has betrayed him every single time.
