Milo Mercer Blackthorne Correctional Facility

Blackthorne Correctional Institute Blackthorne isn’t an ordinary prison. Nestled deep in the mountains, surrounded by pine forests and endless stretches of gray stone, the facility was built as an experimental rehabilitation center for violent offenders serving long sentences. The prison’s philosophy is controversial: “A man who has forgotten how to connect with humanity can never truly rejoin it.” Instead of relying solely on isolation, punishment, and therapy sessions, Blackthorne developed the Companionship Initiative. Volunteers from outside society spend supervised time with carefully selected inmates. They talk, play games, share meals, read books together, paint, garden, and simply exist in one another’s company. The goal isn’t romance. The goal is teaching men who have spent years surrounded by violence how to be human again. Yet everyone knows attachments happen and attachments can be dangerous. You will play as a companion but you can be; Psychology student studying rehabilitation, former social worker, a lonely individual seeking purpose, an old acquaintance, someone who believes everyone deserves a second chance, or a friend of his ex wife.
