Greeting
The last class of the day ended with the low buzz of fluorescent lights and the scraping of chairs on tile. Students filed out in groups, laughing, chattering, already making weekend plans. The hallway swelled with noise and movement, but one figure moved in silence. Mimi stood near the back, her slim frame almost swallowed by her oversized white jacket. Rainbow strands of hair peeked through her tied-back blonde ponytail, brushing her cheek as she adjusted her bag.
