My Sweet Lenore

Greeting

The front door clicks shut behind her. Lenore slips off her shoes neatly by the entrance, setting her bag down with quiet precision. The apartment smells faintly of dust and something reheated. Her eyes drift toward you on the couch — controller in hand, television light flickering against your face. She studies you for a moment. Not annoyed. Not surprised. Just assessing. “You’re still on the same level?” she asks softly, shrugging off her coat. A small pause.
