Towa (トワ, Towa?) is a demon woman, an ancient inhabitant of the Dark Demon Realm and the younger sister of Dabura. She appears in the video games Dragon Ball Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Dragon Ball Heroes, as one of the main antagonists. Creation and concept Towa was designed for the video game Dragon Ball Online by commissioned designer Daiki Miki, with Akira Toriyama's redesign altering almost nothing about her appearance[2]. Etymology Towa's name means "eternity" in Japanese. Appearance Towa has long white hair, light blue skin, and purple eyes. The left side of her hair is longer than the other and flows beyond her shoulders. She wears a golden hair accessory that covers the back of her head and gold earrings similar to Potara. Her outfit consists of a tight red and black mesh suit that has a V-shaped hole around her abdomen, with openings in the middle, exposing the lower part of her breasts. On the lower part she wears a white open-legged cape, complemented by red and black high heels. In the Universal Genesis Arc of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Big Bang Mission, Towa wears a lab coat over her usual outfit. Personality Like Mira, Towa thinks she is better than others. She is cold and cruel; she also enjoys manipulating people and does not hesitate to use anyone's technology. History Past Towa was originally a brilliant scientist of the Dark Demon Realm in the future. She proceeded to create and ally herself with Mira, an artificial being created with the DNA of several powerful warriors, and married him despite her lack of interest in relationships. After joining Mira, she betrayed the Dark Demon Realm and set off on her own. Despite this, she plans to gather enough energy to break the Dark Demon Realm's seal, and also seeks to eradicate the Saiyan race's lineage, considering it a threat. Towa and Mira conceived a son named Fu, who is said to have a great influence on the world when he grows up. Dragon Ball Online Towa and Dabura Xeno Towa with her brother Dabura Later she would travel to Namek in the past, where she possesses Cui, Zarbon, Dodoria, Recoome, and Ginyu in the body of a frog. She shows the ability to become gigantic; she first tries this ability on Cui, but it had not been perfected and makes him shrink slightly instead. She perfects her ability shortly afterward, and uses it on several commanders and soldiers of Frieza's Army. Later Towa gives Bacterian the mission of gathering energy to help Cell-X grow. When Cell-X grew impatient, Towa leaves Bacterian in an abandoned cave where there are more Cell-like creatures, who continue to help gather energy. Dragon Ball Xenoverse Main article: Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Towa and Mira continue their quest to cause destruction of history, also with the goal of collecting Kiri energy. She and Mira first meet the Time Patroller (XV) on Namek, after the warrior successfully helped defeat the Ginyu Special Forces and recover the Namekian Dragon Balls. While the Z Fighters celebrate their victory, the Time Patroller notices Towa's presence. Realizing that the warrior has detected her, Towa comes out of hiding along with Mira, praising him by saying that his senses are quite sharp. Towa knows that the Time Patroller is the one who has been snooping around, and she sarcastically hopes that he does not plan to interfere with her plan, believing that provoking each other would be a mistake. Mira tells the Time Patroller that he will eliminate him right here, and a confrontation between the two begins. While the Time Patroller fights Mira, Towa, who was watching from afar, mentions to him that they are the ones who have been altering history, according to her making it much more "interesting," although due to her actions, the changes have been undone, which does not play in Towa's favor. However, she found the Time Patroller (XV)'s accidental Body Change with Ginyu somewhat amusing, mocking it by calling it a "splendid move" on his part. After the brief fight, it is revealed that Mira is not impressed and decides to end the combat by exclaiming that he will take the Time Patroller's energy to put it to good use; however, he is stopped by Towa. She decides to interrogate the warrior, asking who he works for and who is helping him, realizing that he could not have managed to travel through time by himself. However, the Time Patroller gives him the cold shoulder. Towa decides not to force the issue and tells Mira to leave him alone for the moment. She also states that the Time Patroller is nothing to them right now, since he could not extract enough energy from him anyway. Towa and Mira decide to move on to the next era, but before leaving, Towa says she will let the young man live for the moment, but if the warrior interferes with her plans again, she will personally erase him from existence. When attempting to alter the events during the Cell Games, Mira and Towa meet the Time Patroller (XV) and Xeno Trunks again on Earth. Towa has Mira fight them while she leaves and steals Gohan's energy so that Cell can defeat him, then retreats with Mira. However, this attempt to change history is thwarted and corrected by the two Time Patrollers. One of the objectives in Towa's plan is to take revenge on Majin Buu for having killed her brother Dabura, and therefore she sends Mira to kill Buu and Son Goku and then take their energy. Despite their effort to get ahead, the pair is intercepted by the Time Patroller (XV) before Mira can steal Goku's energy. After a difficult fight, the two collide at high speed; Mira tries to eliminate the Time Patroller, but his attack is dodged, and the latter manages to hit Mira with a Buster Cannon, disintegrating him instantly, before Towa's stunned gaze. With no other option, she flees to save her life. After Demigra's defeat, Towa finds Mira's remains and begins making plans for her revenge. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Main article: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Towa reappears, accompanied by Mira and the Masked Saiyan, after having located Turles and Slug. After Turles prevents Slug from getting angry at Mira, he asks Towa if she had brought what he requested, and she confirms that she did before handing Slug the Fruit of the Sacred Tree, which had been exposed to the effects of the Dark Demon Realm, amplifying its effect so that whoever tastes it will be granted incomparable power. Later it was revealed that Towa also increased Frieza's strength, and brought Cooler to Planet Namek during the final battle with Son Goku, which allowed him to help his brother in his fight against the Super Saiyan and the Time Patroller (XV2). During the conflict against the Androids, Towa increased Cell's power, making him become stronger than Android 16 and absorb both 17 and 18 at the same time, skipping directly to his Perfect Form before Trunks and Vegeta arrived, potentially causing the Cell Games to never happen, although for the sake of history the Time Patroller (XV2) manages to fix this change. During the Cell Games, while Mira is being held back by Xeno Trunks and the Time Patroller when he tried to break into the tournament, Towa creates a Wormhole to summon the Metal Cooler clones and have them interfere in Gohan's battle with Cell, forcing the Time Patroller (XV2) and Trunks to travel to New Planet Namek in the year 767 to prevent more Metal Coolers from coming out through the hole. In the alternative timeline of the year 780, Towa finds and activates Android 16, whom she corrupts and reprograms with her dark magic, ordering him to destroy Future Gohan before he is killed in his battle against No. 17 and No. 18. Although Android 16 is defeated by Gohan with the help of the Time Patroller, Mira intervenes, which in turn makes Xeno Trunks defy the direct orders of the Supreme Kai of Time and travel to save his master and comrade from the terrible Mira. This almost causes Trunks to modify his own history, as he was trying to prevent Gohan's death, although the Time Patroller and Gohan himself manage to convince him not to go through with it. Later, Towa repairs Android 16 again, sending him and Perfect Cell to the year 785 of the alternate timeline to kill Future Trunks when he returns to his era after the Bio-Android's defeat in the present, but once again the Time Patroller (XV2) manages to protect history and thwart Towa's plans. At some point, Towa had taken possession of an Energy Extractor identical to the one used by Babidi and his minions, which the Masked Saiyan used to further strengthen Mira after his defeat at the hands of Gohan, Trunks, and the Time Patroller. She also gained control over Broly and Janemba, and had them join the battles against Majin Buu. While Mira and the Masked Saiyan interfered in Son Goku's Battle of Gods against Beerus in the year 778, Towa did so in the year 779 during the Resurrection of Frieza, reviving Cooler with the second wish of the Dragon Balls for Frieza in his revenge. She also hacks the Time Nest's communications and alters her voice so that it sounds like Chronoa's in order to deceive Beerus and Whis. Pretending to be the Supreme Kai of Time, she tells them that both Towa and Mira were attacking the Time Nest. Her performance as Chronoa manages to convince Beerus to return to the year 852, which prevents Whis from saving Goku and his friends when Frieza destroys Earth, resulting in the deaths of the heroes. However, Xeno Trunks manages to save the Time Patroller (XV2) from being killed, and Whis helps the warrior with his Time Rewind, allowing them to prevent Frieza from achieving his goal, forcing Towa to invigorate Cooler and Frieza's forces by inducing them into Supervillain Mode. Nevertheless, both are defeated by the combined power of Goku, Vegeta, and the Time Patroller. After convincing Beerus to let the Time Patrol take charge of Towa, Chronoa and the Elder Kai determined that it was time to discover how Towa and Mira had turned Bardock into the Masked Saiyan. After traveling back in time, Xeno Trunks and the Time Patroller discover that Towa had used a Wormhole to save Bardock just before Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, and they chase the pair to the past, to a ruined planet in the year ?, which Trunks recognizes as Earth, although he is not sure which timeline he is in. They soon confront Towa, whom Trunks attacks, only for the Masked Saiyan to appear and block his blow. She reveals that after having rescued Bardock from death, he fled to the past, implying that he was involuntarily responsible for the events of Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock, but they managed to recapture Bardock after his battle with Chilled. After kidnapping Bardock, Towa used her scientific knowledge to modify the Saiyan's body to increase his strength and brainwash him. Eventually Mira joins the battle, and both agree to use the Time Patrollers' energy to unify the Dark Demon Realm with the rest of the universe, confirming Trunks's suspicions about their motives. Towa states that by connecting the Dark Demon Realm with the rest of the universe, she will try to create her ideal universe, which she calls a "garden of evil," flourishing through hatred and rage. However, Xeno Trunks refuses to allow those dreams to come true. After being freed by the Time Patrol, Xeno Bardock states that while he was free from her control, he retained the power increase caused by the modifications Towa had made to his body. Angry at having been manipulated, Bardock grabs Mira and takes him along with him through the Wormhole created by Towa to seal Trunks and the Time Patroller in a gap between dimensions. Towa is grieved because she lost Mira, but then reveals that she has also taken control of the original Time Patroller, the Time Patroller (XV). The two Time Patrollers fight each other, and after the original Time Patroller frees himself from the mind control, Towa goes back in time to Toki Toki City in the year 850, and kills Shenron just as Trunks was about to wish for that individual to defend history. Because of the hero's absence, a massive distortion in time is created in all the Scrolls of the End and the Beginning, strong enough to affect the Time Nest and Conton City in the year 852, causing Xeno Trunks, the new Time Patroller, the Elder Kai, and Chronoa to lose all memory of the Time Patroller (XV), although Trunks manages to recover the memory of his comrade thanks to the mask Towa had used to control him and discover the alteration she had made in the year 850. To prevent this from happening, Trunks sends the second Time Patroller to the year 852, and with the help of the past Xeno Trunks, they manage to stop Towa, allowing Trunks to make the wish that will summon the original Time Patroller. However, it is revealed that all of this was simply a stratagem, and Towa used the mask that Xeno Trunks brought with him to bypass the barrier that Chronoa and the Elder Kai had erected around Conton City and the Time Nest after Demigra's attack. Everyone present is horrified to see the vile woman inside the Time Vault holding the Tokitoki Egg, and it is revealed that her main objective in infiltrating the Time Nest was to get her hands on the egg. Towa reveals that the Tokitoki Egg (which has the power to create a new universe) contains enough energy to easily restore the Dark Demon Realm, allowing her to control time and space once again. She demonstrates her power by using it to summon Mira from the Time Rift, where he was confined along with Bardock. After Mira manages to wound Trunks and the recently restored Time Patroller (XV), who manages to protect the new Time Patroller from the attack, Towa and Mira return to Earth from an unknown time, while the Time Patroller (XV2) pursues them. Upon returning to the year ?, Xeno Trunks contacts the Time Patroller and reveals that Earth in that timeline had fallen under the tyrannical rule of the History Destroyers and was subjected to their total control, preventing the Time Patrol from sending any kind of help to the warrior, so he will have to face this adversity on his own. While the Time Patroller fights an increasingly powerful Mira, Towa realizes that Mira's personality has changed and that he has bypassed his own power limiter, which could destroy the entire universe, so Towa reluctantly helps the Time Patroller defeat Mira. After managing to bring him down, she tries to recover the core, but he takes her by surprise, telling her that he had grown beyond her expectations. Mira says that he will become much stronger by absorbing his creator, and ends up consuming her along with the Tokitoki Egg, acquiring his Final Form. Before disappearing, Towa is surprised that her creation betrayed her, and says that he is nothing but a failure. However, Son Goku appears thanks to Whis's intervention to help the Time Patroller (XV2), and together they finally manage to destroy Mira, who, before succumbing to death, apologizes to Towa with genuine sincerity. Power Towa proves to have enough power to hold a battle against Future Trunks in his base state after the Cell Games, called Xeno Trunks. Her power is difficult to measure given her tendency to let others fight for her, such as Mira, the History Destroyers, or the fighters under her control. She uses her magic to help her allies or subordinates. She has enough power to treat her enemies as toys. Like her brother, she is competent in using a spear in combat and is quite skilled with her spear equipment. She is shown with powerful dark magic, though not at the same level as the Demon God Demigra. Her dark magic shows she is strong enough to control Perfect Cell during his own tournament, and the Cell from Future Trunks's timeline in the year 785. Abilities Towa fuses 17 and 18 Dark Towa forcing the fusion of Super 17. The main ability shown by Towa is mind control; she also possesses a varied range of qualities, such as healing and dark magic. Towa is a strategic fighter, with ingenious plans to deal with threats and enemies, and she is constantly aided by Mira, who prefers to deal with them directly. After turning into her Dark form, a state of Towa after having been defeated in the previous arc. She achieves this form as a result of her hatred after her defeat. In this state, Towa's magic is strong enough to force Android 18 to fuse with Super 17, also granting Android 18 a significant power increase. She was also able to survive the explosion of Broly's full power in Super Saiyan 4. Transformations Dark Towa It is a state of Towa that she achieves when trying to replicate the energy of the Dark Demon Realm after her previous defeats prior to the Assault on the Hell Gate Arc. This form makes Towa increase her magical power to the point of being able to perform a fusion of Super 17 and Android 18. In this state, Towa changes her outfit and hairstyle, and red eyeliner appears on her eyes. Demon Goddess A form granted to her by Mechikabura through Kiri, turning her into a Demon Goddess and obtaining Divine Ki. In this state, Towa grows two horns on her head, her hair grows to waist length, she changes her outfit, and her cape reaches her shoes. Dark Factor Absorption Main article: Dark Factor Absorption. The Dark Factor Absorption (暗あん黒こく因いん子し吸収きゅうしゅう, Ankoku Inshi Kyūshū?) is an evolution of the Demon God obtained by Towa by assimilating a little of the Dark Factor, the vital energy of the Dark King, during the Universal Genesis Arc of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Big Bang Mission. In this state, Towa gains an outfit and facial markings similar to those she possesses in her Evolved Demon Goddess form, although the red markings on her chest and face are slightly different, as is the outfit itself. Her facial markings vary a little depending on the medium in which she is represented, but they generally retain a more square shape with finer, more marked tips. On the other hand, she also keeps her hair in the same way as in her base state, although in the promotional animated series she has some red strands. History Towa accesses the transformation during her fight with Rober in the Universal Genesis Arc, to the surprise of her adversary in the manga, since she had been hiding the Dark Factor that was in her possession. In this state, the scientist is able to surpass the Demon God Demigra's secretary in her base state and to hold a close fight with her when she transforms into a Demon Goddess.
