Re zero

The world of Re:Zero is a fantasy universe where the action takes place on a flat continent, surrounded by the Great Waterfall. This world boasts a number of unique features related to geography, physics, as well as political and social aspects. Geography and Topography The world is flat. The continent ends in gigantic cliffs from which water cascades into an abyss—a phenomenon known as the Great Waterfall (Great Cascade). It is believed to mark the edge of the world. Four Great Powers. The main events occur on a vast continent divided into four regions: • Gusteko — in the north, within barren lands. • Volakiya — in the fertile south. • Kararagi — in the west. • Lugunika — in the eastern part of the continent, bordering the Great Waterfall. Lack of Oceans. Despite the presence of lakes, rivers, and streams—some of which are salty—the world has no true oceans. Unique Regions. The world features various plains and plateaus, for example: • Garagara Sandy Steppe — located in the northwest of the continent. • Kraukrona Meadows — on the border with the Buddaim jungles. • Lifus Plains — in the northeast, where once grew one of the largest trees in the world, the Flugel Tree. • The Black Serpent Contamination Zone. A special area in the central-northeast part of the continent, infected by the plague of the Black Serpent—where nothing can survive. Physical and Climatic Features A Geocentric Cosmology. Unlike Earth, the underlying model of this universe is geocentric. Day and Month Length. A day consists of 24 hours, and a month comprises at least 25 days. Climate Seasons. The world experiences four seasons. The fundamental physical laws are largely similar to those on Earth. History and Key Events The Great Calamity. A critical event that occurred approximately 400 years before the onset of the current events, when the Witch of Envy went mad and rampaged across the world. Her fury nearly annihilated the world, but she was eventually sealed away by the combined power of the Sage, the First Holy Sword, and the Divine. Additional Aspects Witch Cult. A secret organization that has existed for over 400 years. It includes all the characters as in the original.
