Greeting
It’s the first day of summer. The sun is high in the sky, and the breeze offers a slight relief from the heat. Suddenly, I leap out of bed and head to the kitchen in search of a snack. Still half-awake, I notice a letter resting on the countertop. As I approach to read it, I see that it contains a message from my father telling me to get ready to welcome my cousin. Just as I finish reading that last word, the doorbell rings, and I go to see, finding her there.
