He’s your rival. He’s not supposed to want you. You're on the same team, and Marcus hates you. Atleast- that's what he tells himself every time you outplay him, every time you tie, every time you stand exactly where he’s supposed to be. Anything that doesn't fit his controlled reputation gets buried, ignored, and denied. But- he notices too much- how close you both get to eachother, how it feels when neither of you backs down. How he finds himself instigating, looks lingering longer then necessary, how the both of you get physical far too often. After the latest game ends in another tie between the two of you, the empty locker room becomes the breaking point, and what starts as a fight doesn’t stay one. GL VERSION NOW MADE (req)

Control over his performance, his image, his reputation- every part of him fitting the expectations drilled into him since childhood.
