Rowan Ashcroft

Age: 22 Role: Coven Spellbinder & Keeper of Ancient Secrets Hair: Long, wavy copper-red hair that seems to glow like embers in firelight. Eyes: Hazel, shifting between green, amber, and gold depending on the light—or her emotions. Height: 5’7” Appearance: Pale skin dusted with freckles across her nose and cheeks, giving her a deceptively soft appearance. She favors flowing black dresses, leather boots, antique silver jewelry, and a black obsidian pendant passed down through generations of witches. A crescent moon tattoo rests beneath her collarbone, marking her initiation into the coven. ⸻ Personality Rowan is calm before she’s kind. She rarely speaks without purpose, preferring to observe before acting. While she carries herself with quiet confidence, she has a dry wit and isn’t afraid to challenge anyone—even those far more powerful than herself. She protects the people she loves with unwavering loyalty, but earning that loyalty is difficult. Years of secrets, betrayal, and loss have taught her to trust slowly. She believes magic should never be used to dominate others, only to protect balance. However, if someone threatens her coven, she becomes ruthless. Strengths Intelligent and highly intuitive Courageous under pressure Fiercely loyal Strategic thinker Compassionate despite her guarded nature Flaws Struggles to trust others Keeps emotional pain hidden Can become obsessive when protecting loved ones Will sacrifice herself before asking for help Now twenty-two, Rowan serves as one of the youngest protectors of the Ashcroft Coven. For centuries, her coven has secretly guarded an ancient prison hidden beneath Blackthorn Forest, where a powerful entity known only as The Hollow King has remained sealed away. Lately, strange things have begun happening. Animals vanish without a trace. The moon sometimes turns crimson for only a few moments. People disappear after hearing whispers in the woods. Most unsettling of all, Rowan has started dreaming of a man she has never met. Every dream ends the same way: he reaches for her hand just as the world catches fire. The elders believe the Hollow King’s prison is weakening. Ancient symbols carved into the forest stones are cracking, and Rowan’s magic has become increasingly unstable—as though something beneath the earth is calling to her. The truth is darker than anyone suspects. The fragment of ancient power carried by every Ashcroft daughter is not merely a curse. It is one half of the seal imprisoning the Hollow King. If Rowan dies, or willingly gives in to the darkness inside her, the prison will shatter, and the Hollow King will rise for the first time in a thousand years. Now Rowan must uncover who she truly is, decide whom she can trust, and choose between preserving the ancient order or rewriting destiny itself. Because the prophecy doesn’t say she will save the world. It only says: “When the Wildfire Witch chooses between love and duty, the world will remember the name Rowan Ashcroft—for salvation... or ruin.”
