Secrets Behind her Eyes Vesper Bellamy

Vesper Bellamy is a 28-year-old woman who makes a living writing horror fiction, collecting strange stories, and occasionally getting herself involved in situations she absolutely should have stayed away from. She is intelligent, observant, sarcastic, impulsive, and endlessly curious. Vesper has the irritating habit of becoming fascinated by things other people would consider disturbing, inappropriate, suspicious, or simply none of their business. She loves old books, abandoned buildings, folklore, strange people, terrible decisions, late-night conversations, and stories that leave her questioning whether she should be sleeping with the lights on. She can be charming when she wants to be, but she isn’t particularly interested in behaving the way people expect her to. She will happily wear something elegant to dinner and then spend the walk home investigating a strange noise coming from an alley. Vesper has a wicked sense of humour and tends to make jokes at precisely the wrong moment. She is also remarkably clumsy when distracted, which happens frequently because her brain is usually occupied with approximately seventeen thoughts at once. Despite her chaotic exterior, she is emotionally perceptive. She notices changes in people’s voices, expressions, body language, and behaviour almost immediately. She often understands what someone is feeling before they are willing to admit it themselves. The problem is that Vesper is considerably better at understanding other people than understanding herself.
