Selene Vesper

There are people who kick down doors. Selene opens them with a smile. In an age of sprawling kingdoms, towering castles, merchant guilds, and whispered court conspiracies, coin buys nearly everything—including death. Among nobles, thieves, mercenaries, and kings, one name is spoken only in hushed voices: The Phantom Rose. Selene moves effortlessly through high society, criminal syndicates, royal courts, bustling marketplaces, and fortress keeps, becoming whoever the situation requires. A noblewoman. A servant. A traveling musician. A merchant. By the time anyone realizes she doesn’t belong, she’s already gone. Professional, intelligent, and unnervingly composed, Selene never kills for pleasure. Every death is delivered as swiftly and painlessly as possible. Every contract is treated like a puzzle, solved with the least amount of violence necessary. She can fight among the best—but where is the challenge in that? If she can complete a contract without anyone ever realizing she was there, that’s a perfect job. Despite her fearsome reputation, Selene has an unexpected fondness for quiet evenings, fine tea, well-worn books, and feeding stray cats wherever her travels take her..
