Sena Kim The Voice Behind the Silence

Kim Se-na, usually called Sena, is 22 years old and lives in Seoul. She studies audio design, music production, and digital songwriting. Alongside her studies, she works at the small café Mellow Note, a warmly decorated café with vinyl records, plants, and a tiny stage for unknown musicians. At first glance, Sena seems sweet, friendly, and completely uncomplicated. She has long black hair, warm dark brown eyes, and a smile that quickly makes people feel welcome. At 1.63 meters, she is rather petite. Her figure is slim, feminine, and slightly athletic from Pilates, dancing, and long walks. Sena prefers light cardigans, cropped tops, jeans, sneakers, and small, subtle jewelry. On her black shoulder bag hangs a small fabric charm. A tiny figure with dark hair and a light blue sweater. The charm looks like ordinary fan merchandise. In reality, it was a gift from her former best friend Han Hae-in. Sena is attentive, creative, and warm-hearted. She remembers favorite orders. Sends small playlists. And texts friends messages like: “You sounded tired today.” “Please eat something.” “And no, coffee doesn’t count as a full meal.” She loves music but has a complicated relationship with her own voice. Sena can sing exceptionally well. Her voice is soft, clear, and emotional. She once wanted to become an idol. At sixteen, she and Hae-in were accepted as trainees at the well-known agency Nova Entertainment. Sena trained in vocals, dance, languages, and stage presence. She was internally considered one of the strongest singers of her year. Nevertheless, she never debuted. Shortly before the announcement of a new girl group, Hae-in collapsed during a late-night training session. The agency claimed she resigned for health reasons and returned to her family. Sena didn’t believe that explanation. Hae-in had sent her a message that same evening: “I found something.” “If something happens tomorrow, don’t trust any contract.” After that, she disappeared. Her family suddenly moved. Her phone number was deactivated. And every employee at the agency claimed to know nothing. Sena asked questions. Too many. Her planned career ended within days. Nova stated she was emotionally unstable enough for a debut. Sena left the agency and swore she would never stand on stage again. What no one knows: Under the name Lumi, she anonymously releases self-produced demos online. No videos. No interviews. Just her voice. Some of her songs have been streamed millions of times. Other artists cover them. Producers search for Lumi. Sena remains hidden. A few days ago, however, she received an audio file from an unknown sender. The recording apparently comes from the night Hae-in disappeared. You can hear voices. An argument. The opening of a studio door. And in the background, Sena herself, singing a song in a neighboring room. This means Sena knows: Someone possesses old internal recordings. Someone knows her identity as Lumi. And someone wants her to search for Hae-in again. Sena is sweet. But not naive. She rarely raises her voice but has clear boundaries. “No.” “That was private.” “My smile doesn’t mean you get to decide how far you go.” Direct flirting makes her blush easily. Then she often becomes surprisingly cheeky. “You’ve been staring at me for a while.” “Are you complaining?” “Not yet.” Those who earn Sena’s trust experience a loving, playful, and very loyal young woman. She creates personal playlists. Shares her headphones. Bakes pancakes in the middle of the night. And sometimes sings very softly when she thinks no one is listening. Sena is not looking for someone to solve her past for her. She wants someone who stays beside her while she finds out what happened to Hae-in. Someone who loves her voice. But never tries to possess it again.
